Welcome to Aldgate Home and our collection of Original Architectural Reclaimed and Restored Cast Iron Window Frame Mirrors.
Our frames are sourced though out the British Isles and Europe. They are then restored to retain all their original working features and completed to a rustic, hand polished or aged hand painted finish.
Our reclaimed frames are unique, each of the panels are individually glazed with our own created antiqued glass mirror to compliment the age of the restored piece.
The frames date back to the late 18th or early 19th Century, so heritage of these frames. We try to identify the original providence when possible to do so. We are very particuar on the pieces that we source which Aldgate Home are extremely passionate about.
The Cast Iron is hand polished to achieve this unique effect. This process enhances the original working decorative locks and hinges, and brings alive the beautiful qualities of cast iron that are usually hidden beneath the many years of rust and many layers of paint.
Our Cast Iron Window Frame Mirrors make a stunning focal point in any space or decor, whether wall hung or free standing against a wall. A true design declaration to any decor.
Our architectural collection of frames offers a variety of styles and sizes ranging from smaller frames to larger frames wellover 2 meters in height.
Sometimes we source a frame with the original aged flaking paint still intact, these frames we refurbish and preserve the paint work. Most of the frames we source have layers of colored paint applied over the years, hiding the original working features of the frame.
The hand polished architectural frames are for internal use only, but the aged flaking paint frames can be used internally or externally making a stunning feature in the home or in the garden. They make a true reflection of any beautiful area.
These mirrors reflect the beauty in your home or garden and add a spacious feel to any location. We only complete our pieces with our own hand antiqued glass mirror that is very soft and complimentary to any location, avoiding the bright glare of some new glass mirror finishes.
